Lloyd Cibulka, Research Coordinator, has 36 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He works in CIEE’s Electric Grid program, developing and managing research projects in several areas: improving transmission and distribution system infrastructure, integrating renewable power sources into the grid, and developing and implementing Smart Grid technologies.
Before joining CIEE, Lloyd was a consultant in the technical and economic evaluation of distributed energy technologies. He also worked for Pacific Gas & Electric Company as a transmission planning engineer, focusing on dynamic analysis of high-voltage transmission systems, and as a program manager in R&D.
Lloyd is a longtime member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society and a Registered Professional Engineer in California. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering (Power Option) from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
