Elizabeth Burton

Dr. Elizabeth Burton, Program Director for CIEE's Carbon Sequestration Research Program, holds a PhD in Earth & Planetary Science from the Washington University at St. Louis. She has served as General Manager-Americas for the Global CCS Institute, Technical Director of the DOE West Coast Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership (WESTCARB) and research project manager at Lawrence Berkeley and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, Chevron Technology Company, and as a Geology professor at Northern Illinois University.
 
She has worked in the field of carbon capture and storage for nearly 20 years. In addition to basic and applied research, Liz has provided technical consultation for the California Legislature and the U.S. Congress.
