CIEE will be presenting as part of a two-day webinar series hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO). The webinar series will be held on June 24–25, at 12 p.m. ET, and features projects focused on enabling large amounts of distributed solar on the grid. Presenters will discuss how their projects improved distribution network planning and real-time operations, with innovative approaches to situational awareness and the ability to respond to dynamic events. CIEE’s Director of Electric Grid, Sascha von Meier, will be speaking on the ENERGISE project on June 25th.
More about the ENERGISE project
Utilities, researchers, and solar industry stakeholders are encouraged to attend to learn more about the SETO’s projects on system integration research and development projects around planning and operations of distribution networks. These projects covered innovative approaches to situational awareness as a well as being able to respond to dynamic events.
On June 24 from 12:00 to 3:30 PM EDT, the SETO systems integration team will provide an overview of the office’s vision and priorities in systems integration with high penetration of distributed solar. Then, guest speakers from the following organizations will discuss how their solutions interconnect and integrate solar in existing grid architecture:
- National Renewable Energy Laboratory
- Sandia National Laboratories
- University of California: Riverside
- PPL Electric Utilities
- Southern California Edison
On June 25 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM EDT, guest speakers from the following organizations will discuss their transformative, highly scalable technologies that plug into distribution system planning and real-time operation solutions for advanced grid architectures:
- National Renewable Energy Laboratory
- University of Central Florida
- Northeastern University
- University of Vermont
- University of California, Berkeley
