CIEE Electric Grid Director Dr. Alexandra “Sascha” von Meier will be participating in the 2022 Milken Institute Global Conference, which will take place from May 1-4 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

Von Meier, along with experts from General Electric, Heliogen, and Commonwealth Fusion Systems, will be participating in the “Breakthrough Technologies Redefining Our Energy Future” panel discussion on May 3 from 12:30 PM-2:15 PM PDT. Moderated by CNBC’s Brian Sullivan, the session will touch on innovative means of energy generation and cover developments that are critical to scaling carbon-free technologies. Von Meier will be speaking about the Oakland EcoBlock, a CIEE-led research project that leverages block-scale retrofitting to achieve affordable urban decarbonization and improve community resilience.
