CIEE Postdoctoral Scholar Dr. Miriam Aczel and CIEE Associate Director Dr. Therese Peffer recently co-published a research article in Frontiers in Climate titled, “Advancing California’s Microgrid Communities Through Anticipatory Energy Resilience.” The paper addresses the challenges of implementing community microgrids within California’s current regulatory and policy frameworks—which are designed for centralized, large-scale energy systems—and offers principles for new models of energy generation, distribution, and consumption.
