Climate Change Mitigation Research
This research project sought to advance the incorporation of natural and working lands use and management into California’s climate change mitigation strategy.
Research components included: establishing the carbon sequestration and land-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions implications of a suite of land use and management practices; synthesizing best available science across State Agencies and from external parties; and, crafting “business-as-usual” and “with-policy” scenarios based on targeted future conservation and management/restoration activities, and the results of those management scenarios under climate change scenarios.
