Alexandra "Sascha", von Meier, Co-Director,
Electric Grid
Sascha von Meier joined CIEE in 2010 and recently became Co-Director of the Electric Grid program area. Her work focuses on power distribution systems, Smart Grid issues, and the integration of renewable energy. Nimble in though and action, Sascha is an author and rock climber with a passion for making complex technical concepts understanable by non-scientists. She also contributes her expertise to i4Energy, CIEE's collaborative community of researchers with UC's Center for Information and Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS), and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). An Adjunct Associate Professor with UC Berkeley's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Sascha developed and is teaching a two-semester course, Introduction to Electric Power Systems.
